  • Technology Project Title: CTA Website

  • Project Focus: For this topic, I would like to build a website for the Composition & TESOL Association.

  • Learning Goals: I’d like to make a CTA website to provide helpful information to current and prospective Composition & TESOL students that is currently unavailable online. Since beginning the program, I have learned a great deal, and I would love to share that with newer and prospective students. For prospective students, there would be information about Indiana, PA, as well as information about the C&T program. For current students, there would be a space that keeps abreast of recent publications and presentations by faculty and students. I hope to learn the skills necessary to build these types of websites for future organizations I will be a part of.

  • Technology Project Type: The end product of my project will be a website.

  • Technology Project Components: I will need to find a platform to build my site on. I will also need to determine what sort of tabs I will want to include. There will be an aesthetic element that I will need to address – I want the website to look really good, and not just thrown together. I will need to figure out how to link both Tony’s and Roger’s projects off of my site.

  • Technology Project Background Information: For the background information, I will write a brief literature review of the seminal works for Composition & TESOL students. To do this, I will most likely contact various professors in the program to get there input on which works to include. This background information will more than likely be included in my website, but perhaps in a different format.

  • Technology Project Timeline:

    • October 15: Decide on platform and website name

    • October 20: Establish which tabs will be included

    • November 15: 90% of content entered into the site

    • December 1: Website complete.
